The Trio Strikes Back. This is my third trio on my mission so far. That doesn't happen often. Rumors are that I'm being sent to the mission office to serve there for 6 months. If that's true, they'll let me know in a couple weeks. We'll see. But things are going really well with Elder Chantry (who goes home after this transfer) and Elder Lott (who's the new greeny). Anyways, he's the New Hope. It's cool helping to train someone to be the type of missionary that can really best help others and improve himself. It's fun training in a trio actually, technically I'm not the trainer though, Elder Chantry is. So I just get to do all the fun stuff of it again, but not hold all of the responsibility =) Kind of like when I was District Leader's Companion, which ended up becoming a legit thing actually.
I'll admit, sometimes I wonder why I'm not the district leader or the trainer. But whatever, I'm just enjoying the work a lot and I do what I can to support those around me. I've actually become to be known as a hard-working missionary with good Dutch and someone who can make quick friends. That makes me pretty happy to hear that from others! It's hard feeling appreciated sometimes for all the work that you do and not seeing specific success. But that also depends on how you define success. I know I'm being responsible, obedient, striving to always improve, and doing my best, that's what matters most.
Well, one cool miracle from this week (that the zone leaders are actually going to share with the stake presidency) happened on Thursday, Elder Lott's first full day of work. We were walking along and I contacted a lady who started to walk by and asked her if she knew the Mormons. She actually said that a member (woo hoo!!!) from her work had invited her a while ago to come to a church service of ours. This lady felt too busy to go, but this totally opened her up to talk with us because she knew a little already about who we are and had a friendly example from the Church already. So we kept talking with her and she ended up asking us a ton of questions that were PERFECT! Basically, she asked us questions that applied to the whole first lesson, so we gave her a condensed version that just kept going with each question that she asked us. So cool. Just goes to show (some more) how God inspires people and leads them to ask the right questions they need to figure out. So then she was really excited to get a Book of Mormon from us and wants to give it to her son actually because he doesn't understand why she believes in God and is always asking her questions about religion. So we offered to drop by sometime to get her a second copy of the Book of Mormon and talk to them both a bit. Awesome.
Okay love you guys, have a great week, bye!
