So today I went mini-golfing again at the same place we went to before, but we went to their second course. It was like legit intense pro-putting with sand traps and water hazards and hills everywhere.... but on a miniature scale. This mini-golfing place is awesome =) I wanted to take pictures, but my camera ran out of batteries. So I gotta make sure I buy some before Tuesday's Temple Conference and Keukenhof! But I'm doing much better at taking pictures lately. It's gonna be fun to look back at all of this stuff when I get back home. Who knows if you'll all enjoy it as much, but this place is great! And supposedly plane tickets in March are pretty cheap (compared to usual) because several missionaries came back to visit this past month. It is pretty cold still though and some of the flowers (mostly tulips) are just barely starting to bloom.
Training here in the office is going well. I've realized that Elder Yocom and I had a pretty crazy experience in general with the office. We were just so freakin busy for the first few months that we were in there. Not just because we were new at it, but it was just legitimately a lot more work than we have now. We had like two groups of almost twenty missionaries come in, but now there's only like four coming in at a time. We've also handled 2.5 (we came in towards the end of the first campaign) Facebook Campaigns while we've been in the office. I've also been really busy with working through a bunch of changes and updates in the legality processes with the headquarters in Germany; and I helped put together the Fall 2015 yearbook and I'm totally creating the next yearbook. It's just been super crazy and busy, but I feel like everything's gone a lot slower now. So Elder Clement and Elder Heinricks are getting nice training experiences here into the office. But later on they'll have to deal with all of the challenges of getting a new mission president, moving mission offices (our contract is almost up and can't be renewed), and some big groups are coming at the end of their time here. So just kind of the opposite of how it was for Elder Yocom and I, because it will be slow at first for them, but crazy later. Good luck amigos!
Mainly I just explain to Elder Clement how to do things and then put him to work while I go design the next yearbook. So I'm staying quite busy, but I'm still just getting anxious to leave the office. It's cool designing the new yearbook, I enjoy it a lot. I especially enjoy it a lot because it's just a new skill that I haven't ever really done much of before. I'm using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign mainly to put everything together and edit stuff. I'm also working on writing an article for it, so we'll see how that goes. But it's been a cool experience and I'm excited to show it to you guys when I get home. Chances are I won't be able to completely finish it in time though, so Elder Clement will have to take over for me and put the finishing touches on it.
So we've gotten like four referrals from the Facebook Campaign right now and we've just been letting the other elders visit them all because they'll be staying here and teaching them. But they've seen a ton of success and these people are really interested. This one lady apparently just told them right off the bat that she's searching for truth and wants to know why what Christ did is important for her today. She apparently just asks perfect questions and is honestly trying to find what the truth is in this world. So they set a baptismal date for her and she wrote it down and said she's really excited to come to church. We may see her at General Conference tonight or tomorrow.
We just watch General Conference at church. I sure hope they just let us watch it in English. Sometimes there's a Dutch translator that translates as it is broadcast and that just drives me crazy... Hearing their actual voices and understanding it fully in your own language is so much better. But we'll see! I'm really excited for Conference though, it really is incredible if you think about it. Just a couple hours left until it starts! My favorite thing is when you pray for an answer to a question and then you hear the answer and it just hits you. Or when the answer seems to be the theme of a few talks. Or the answer just slowly starts to impress on you. But unfortunately, I can't really think of a question right now... I'm just gonna prepare myself and see what the Lord wants to tell me.
I love you all a lot and hope you have a great Conference Weekend! Bye bye
