Yup, headed to the office as Legality Elder. I'll be with Elder Yocum for six months there. I'm pretty stressed out about it actually. But I know it's for a reason and I'll make the most of it. I've only met Elder Yocum a few times, but he's a pretty funny guy from Kaysville, Utah. We'll also be serving with the permanent office elder, Elder Evans from Antwerpen, Belgium. So he'll be helping me out with dealing with all the French-speaking people and people with crazy Belgian accents. Thank goodness. And I'll be trained for 3 weeks by Elder Lyman, who I believe studied piano for a year or so in college. He's a fun guy as well. Then there's also Elder Robbins, as Elder Yocom's office trainer. So it'll be like being in a 5-man now. Not to mention we'll be in the office with the senior couple and occasionally the APs and President and Sister Robinson. Woo hoo!
Those who haven't begun the funeral march for me, have been saying how it's a big compliment to be an office elder. Few people do it and it takes specific skills and a high work ethic. It'll be fun though driving around the Netherlands and Belgium. Bringing in new missionaries, getting rid of the old ones =) Taking fun trips down to Belgium, eating delicious food. Etc, etc.
So we went to the Rotterdam Zoo today. Not as cool as the Amsterdam one, still fun though. Unforunately, that's left me with not very much time to email today though. Sorry!
Anyways, it's been pretty sad saying goodbye to all of the members in this ward. I've grown really close with a lot of them and worked really really hard here. It's cool when you've got such a good relationship with members that they give you referrals sometimes, they ask YOU for dinner appointments, and they're truly sad to see you go. I definitely want to come back and visit this ward someday.
Oh and I'll be going to the office Wednesday morning. And we have our P days on Saturdays there, so expect another little update this week, I guess. Maybe I can send pictures easier from there as well. Who knows. Also, I'll be able to go back and visit Amsterdam a bit maybe! The office is in Leiden and that's not horribly far away from Amsterdam.
Thanks for all of your guys' emails though and I love you all a lot! Have a good week!
