I'm pooped. I'm not sure if I've ever been this consistently tired in my life. Office life is crazy and missionary work for the rest of the day is going really well, but also very tiring as a result. First, I'll answer some questions. So how our drivers license situation works here is you go down to Belgium, trade in your American drivers license, and then wait two months to get your Belgian drivers license. If we were to try to get it from the Netherlands, it actually requires tons of testing and costs over a thousand dollars. So we'll just use the EU's benefits and get Belgian ones. Anyways, I gotta wait for two months to get mine now. Sometimes we get put into sticky situations though and so I've driven a few times. Elder Yocom's getting his license this next Friday hopefully because he started the process a while ago when he became district leader. So all of the cars in the Netherlands are usually diesel, manual transmission, hatchback, pieces of crap. It costs more actually to get automatic transmission here. So we've got an Opal Corsa that's actually automatic though. Then there's the Opal van (I forget which model), that's a big blue manual fat sucker. Elder Yocom also knows how to drive manual transmission, but he's going to have to teach me how to later when I get my license. So that'll be fun.
One cool experience from this week was that we went to look up a past potential investigator from the area book, just usual stuff, and then a miracle slapped us in the face. Or something like that. PS, this definitely came at a needed time for me. I was just exhausted and didn't have much enthusiasm around this time. Anyways, we were walking up to the door and then one of my companions decided to contact this one guy on the sidewalk, he didn't speak good English or Dutch though, but his lady friend was yelling to us from her balcony, saying that the man had to go. But she said we should come talk to her. Uh, okay... So she spoke in very broken English until her son came out and translated from Bulgarian (I think) to us. It turns out that the family that lives there were past investigators and that elders had given that family a Book of Mormon. The son was actually seriously investigating, but the family was going to throw away the book. This lady (on the balcony) told this family (her sister's family) not to throw it away though and at least give it back to the elders. So they held on to it for a little while, and we happened to show up at a time when that family wasn't home, but the mom and son were! So they invited us in and told us that they had been to church in the past before and the son really enjoyed the difference he felt when he was with us. The mom was a little confused about what we believed, but they ended up being really positive by the end of the little chat with each other. The problem is that the family that lives there (the lady's sister's family) really doesn't want us there or to have anything to do with us. So they were scared about what might happen if we started meeting somewhere. They asked us some really amazing questions though about how they could recognize answers from God and how they could get those. Then we prayed with them and the Spirit was really strong, but we had to get to an appointment. So we left and gave them our number and told that they're always welcome to come visit the church sometime or to call us. I'm not sure what's gonna happen there, but it was amazing how everything worked out though. Definitely guided and prepared by God.
Were there any other questions...??? I don't know what I want for Christmas. I need personal money in my account to buy some new socks and stuff... Let me know please how much you put in =) Okay I love you guys a lot and hope that you all have a great week! Enjoy Halloween =) And wish me luck, this Wednesday my office trainer peaces out. Byyyyyyeeeeeeeeee
