We had one day where a bunch of miracles and tender mercies happened. And then the rest of the week was.... Not as good. At all. But Wednesday, we called up this guy (for the last time, because he keeps just blowing us off in different ways), and he says he actually wants to meet. What? Okay! So we meet with him and had a pretty cool conversation with him outside. Tender Mercy 1.
Later, we traveled way out into Badhoevedorp to go look up a mormon.org referral. Finally found the place, and all of a sudden this lady from India turns out to be amazing!! She's just so well prepared. Moved to here about 1 1/2 years ago, speaks really good English, got married like 9 months ago, started getting into Christianity then as well, goes to a church every Sunday and to bible studies/activities throughout the week, but has always felt like there has to be more than what that Church was teaching her. So she found out a bit about the Book of Mormon and was super confused why other churches didn't have these prophets either (protected plates by God, anyone?). She almost cried when we told her that we had one for her for free. And then she started to say how she felt like she wants to get baptized really bad, but her other church doesn't believe that's necessary. So we talked to her about it a bit and she wants it SO BAD and with her husband as well. Her husband isn't religious, but she wants us to help teach him. She's so awesome. She loves the Gospel so freakin much! So I'm super excited to keep teaching her. Miracle!!! PS, she had a Pakistani man friend over as well, so we didn't have to worry about the 3rd man rule! Another tender mercy.
Then, we walked outside, contacted a lady, and she is also a super positive new potential investigator. Boom. Then, this guy we met the night before, calls US up and says he wants to meet. Yes. We can do that. Sure thing, cap'n. Appointment creatified.
Moral of the stories: Miracles exist. I got really into a study on the last few chapters of Mormon, where his son, Moroni, throws down on why miracles will always exist. We just gotta be open to recognize them (I often like praying for help with that), be grateful for them, and repeat =) Works like a charm. Even during hard times, there's always some little tender mercy you can always find. Thank goodness.
Also, I started to realize something interesting about the scriptures. I used to always just think about how much all the things in the scriptures apply to people who are of the world. "Oh I'm not one of them, we follow the Gospel, we're safe! Woo hoo!" thought me. But the prophets saw into the future and Moroni explains that he saw us and knew exactly what we were doing. And he (among other prophets) speaks directly to the people who are READING the scriptures. Warning US to be strong and build up our own defenses. Because there's so many problems just going on from within the church.
Kind of like how Utah can be so dangerous because so many people are Mormon, but so many people don't make the right choices, so than other Mormons think it's okay to follow them. Dangerous stuff...
Anyways, I just really liked all of these little points, because Moroni just calls out all of these things specifically! It's so cool! Prophecy is true. And yet sometimes we find it difficult to listen to the man who has the power to receive prophecy. Crazy. Not saying we should be in fear, but we definitely shouldn't be ignorant.
Okay I've ranted enough. But I really wanna thank you guys for all of your emails and for supporting me! Love you all very much! And pictures are great. Much appreciated. Bye bye
