We have a dog...? ....My mind doesn't work right now.... Oh excuse me, maybe I should emphasize the "trying out" part first. I can't believe it yet. Ha ha and I have a confession........ I've grown very sick of pets on my mission. I think a dog that doesn't shed is the best option, if anything. I know, horrible... I've changed... Oh no..... But I'm just freakin sick of having pet hair all over me from people's houses and stepping in dog poop and the horrible smell of unclean pets. I still just have memories running through my head of Mom saying she was going to kill Chester, "And don't think I don't know how!!" Ha ha ha hilarious. This Kasha character may have been rescued from some other situation, but what's Mom gonna do.........? Ha ha just kidding =D Glad to hear that Kasha likes to go run and play fetch though.
So update on the South Korean (her parents are actually emigrants from North Korea) miracle investigator. Turns out she actually goes by Kim because she decided to when she was young in the Netherlands. She's doing awesome. She loved church, became really quick friends with some members in the ward, and we had a great lesson with her the other day. We taught her at the church, because she wanted to meet there with Zr. Boter from church for our lesson. So we taught the Plan of Salvation and as I started to teach about the Pre-Mortal Life, she just kept giving me this really startled look and glancing at every one else. So I asked her if she had any questions and she just got so excited and started saying how it all just already felt so true to her, like she had known this all along! She was so excited and happy! So we continued to teach her the rest of the Plan of Salvation and she just kept getting so shocked and excited all over again at each part!
During the section "Our Life on Earth", I had a sentence just kind of pop in my head, so I said it: "You have a purpose here on Earth, Kim." Not even that special or anything, basically the jist of that section of the lesson. But saying it directly to her, in that way, using her name, it really made an impact on her. She's definitely been prepared by God and just needs to keep on the path, making those good choices to keep learning.
Now for a little bit of sad news, Pablo, who was supposed to be getting baptized today, actually got a little job for tonight, so we had to move his baptism to next week. I really hope that this job works out for him, but also that he keeps his priorities straight. I guess that's pretty bold of me to say that he's gotta put his baptism first instead of a job, but God's got a plan for him that always works best if coming closer to God is his priority. I don't know how things are going to work out for Pablo in the end, he's got a really rough life right now. But being baptized, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and living the Gospel, are going to be the biggest blessings in his life. Pablo's super funny though. He's from Burundi in Africa, freakin hates the cold, and really loves the Gospel. He's already starting marking his scriptures and he's always got a moment during our lessons where he bears a really good testimony when he feels like it.
This week we also had Elder Moreira (Portuguese) from the Third Quorum of the Seventy come speak to us. He was hilarious. It was a really good conference overall and cool to have an area seventy come meet with us. Pictures from that will probably pop up on the mission blog sometime soon. Since I suck at sending pictures/even taking pictures =) But don't worry, I'm sending some today.
And thank you guys so much for the package!! That's a ton of Aquaphor =) ha ha thanks. And don't worry, I'm keeping the rest sealed up until Christmas.
One last update, I've been doing some career searching, and I'm now considering PR actually. Chris'll have to give me more information on that. *cough cough* Still not quite sure though, the search continues.
Well I love you guys a lot and hope you all have a great week!
