Miracles keep happening. We've been spending countless hours just to travel to different meetings, exchanges, responsibilities, events, look-ups, referrals, etc. We literally had 7 hours total of travel time the other day. And often times other days aren't much better than that. But despite the limited amount of time that we actually have to meet with people and find new people, God keeps finding ways to push miracles into our lives. There's the little tender mercies like people striking up conversation with us on the bus or the train (sometimes after we missed one bus or train and had to wait for the next one), or having random people suddenly show up to church. But there's also the miracles that blow your mind and poop on it and shoot it off to space. Too much?
We met a guy on the street a while ago that told us we should actually talk with his mom, because his mom is really religious. They actually lived in Rhode Island for 8 years and picked up a bit of a New Jersey accent when they speak English =) She lives 45 minutes away with the bus in an area that we usually don't work in because it's so far, but we looked her up a few times and she was unfortunately never home. So we stopped going. Then we saw the same guy in the grocery store a week ago and I told him that we hadn't found his mom at home yet. So he said he'd call her and told us when would probably be best to try again. So we tried again and she wasn't home again. We left behind a card, telling her to give us a call and gave up on her again. Then that night, we got a voicemail from her saying saying she was really excited to meet with us! So I called her back and we made an appointment for the next day.
It was one of the coolest lessons on my mission. She was so grateful that we'd come. Some hard stuff has been going on in her life and with her family recently, so she ended up praying that somebody from God would come to her. And she really misses her experience with churches in America, so she actually prayed that she could somehow get back some of what she had in America (cuz Europe is a lot different...). Then two Americans left a card in her mailbox that day, came to her the next day, and said that they had a message from God to share with her =) She asked us a few questions, and some answers popped into our heads. It was exactly what she needed to hear and she started crying and opened up to us about a lot of things. She's so cool and her 15-year old daughter was listening too. They're coming to church next week, this lady wants to be baptized, and she's been telling EVERYBODY about the miracle that's happened =) It's really cool. I wish I could explain it all better and why it really was such a cool miracle, but it's really because the Spirit was just so strong during the lesson and you could really see how God had prepared them and the circumstances and everything!!
So as far as everything else goes, I registered for all my classes, but I'm unfortunately on a waiting list for one of the required classes I need as a pre-requisite to my major (Computer Science - Animation 150). I'm number 8 in the waiting list right now, same position as a week ago... But I'll forward you guys my schedule for now. Right now it's only 12 credit hours, it'll be 13.5 with the class I'm waiting for. But I might have to choose another class to take it's place. I'm just following the suggested plan for taking courses that the BYU major provides.
Can you guys forward me my flight itinerary? I wanna see that. I heard they're doing the direct flight between AMS and SLC.
Also, I got an email that says my housing and food fees need to be paid by July 1st. Did you get any email about that? I've linked your guys' emails to my financial account on BYU. But I don't know if you got sent the link. Let me know please.
K love you guys and happy Father's Day dad and Jason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Byyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeee
