So this whole giving lessons on the doorstep thing is awesome. Of course we also appreciate being able to report more lessons given every week, but just sharing a principle with someone, committing them to read a scripture or pray, and praying with them, brings the Spirit so strong to these people. You can literally see their countenance change while they're listening. It's just super cool seeing how the Spirit opens people up, even in just a short amount of time.
Also saw a pretty dang awesome miracle this week, in my opinion. I was on exchanges with an elder in Utrecht the other day and we had plans to just go out contacting after dinner. But then he felt like we should go visit a gypsy family whose dad is an inactive member and wife is not a member. The elders in Utrecht haven't visited them in a super long time because they just weren't really open and so this was a pretty random prompting. So we went over and I asked him what our plan was and he said he wanted to read 2 Nephi 31:20-21, then talk about enduring to the end and baptism.
So the dad wasn't home and the mom was saying she was really busy and didn't have time to talk with us, but I felt strongly that I needed to ask her if we could just pray with her before we left or if there's anything else we could do before we left for her. She was just trying to get rid of us before and I kinda wanted to just leave, but when I asked her that, she stopped, just stared at me, and then started telling us that she had been praying that someone would come and help her with whatever she was going through. So she asked us to pray for her family and for the protection of her household. As we walked in, I told her how the Utrecht elder had felt like we should come over right around the same time that she said she was praying. Total miracle and the Spirit was really strong from right there. Then I felt like sharing the scripture with her still along with one that I also thought might be good for her. So I pulled out Alma 7:10-12, then asked the other elder to share his scripture. She appreciated it a lot and we ended up telling her how the blessings of baptism (taking on the name of Christ and accepting his Atonement) and receiving the gift of the holy ghost bless us especially during our trials. We asked her to pray about whether that was the right step for her and the Spirit was really strong the whole time. That lesson was definitely guided by the Spirit and helped her out a ton. Thank goodness for miracles!
Our 4th of July was celebrated at an American member's house =) We had a barbecue. Holland is freakin amazing in the World Cup. Things are going well and staying fun. I can't get pictures easily on the computer anymore =( It sucks.... Sorry.
Okay love you guys a lot and hope that you all have an awesome week! Bye bye
