I feel bad, but I'm super tired right now. So I probably won't be writing too many personal emails back... I am very grateful for all of your guys updates and encouragement though! It's always good to hear that mom's still pretending not to be a body builder (she just goes on 18 mile bike rides for fun) and that Dad's still confused by phrases such as ''anywho'' and ''whatnot''.
Things that happened this week in the life of Elder Johnson:
-Played Capture the Flag and tons of other games on a beach last Monday
-Deep cleaned our house today
-Decided that I wish I was serving in the Middle East with more Muslim women who remember what clothes are
-Saved 10% or more by switching to Geico Car Insurance (that was a lie....)
-Spent the last two or three weeks trying to convince the AP's to let me drive their car. Almost succeeded a few times.
-Almost finished my candy =) Granted, with a bit of help (unfortunately.... just kidding)
-Had Stake Conference:
This was interesting. First off, we had the stake part of it on Saturday evening and my mission president spoke with his wife at the end of it. They talked about the Facebook Initiative thing that's been going on, that we got like 530 referrals from in like 30 days. To start off he read a missionary's letter from before the Facebook Initiative, which went along the lines of ''My companion and I have been pretty burned out lately. We've been doing pretty much non-stop finding work for the past two weeks and don't have any progressing investigators.'' CRAP!
In other news, I'm giving a talk this coming Sunday. My companion and I shared a spiritual message with the first counselor's family, and he ended up asking me to speak about it the next week at church....
..... didn't finish that letter. It just sent itself.... Back to the part where you see CRAP! That's my letter! Hahaha so i'm just laughing my head off, especially because President was using it as a ''bad example'', but just reading the pessimistic parts of it =) to show how it was before the Facebook Initiative. Then he read a bunch of optimistic happy letters about us all seeing miracles from it. It was pretty dang funny, and I joked around with President Robinson about it afterwards. He totally slanted it to prove his point for his talk =) But it was a good talk and he didn't mention who any of the letters were from. I told some people though, because I thought it was hilarious. Silly me.
Okay now for the part about me giving a talk. I'm gonna just expand on what our spiritual message was (cuz that's what he asked me to do), and it was about families. Especially how we're all apart of a ward family, then a stake family, a church family, and all part of our Heavenly Father's family in the world. So theme's will include love, unity, service, missionary work, etc. Boom. Should go okay.... Hopefully....
Anyways, I'm tired and going to go get a haircut now. Then, maybe take my first nap in a long long time. Or maybe not. Have a great week everyone!
